Travel back in time to the early beginnings of HCSO; from the "Stockade" and construction of the Orient Road Jail and Walter C. Heinrich Practical Training Center, to the cars and communications center of the day.

The memorial plaza is just outside the Sheriff's Operations Center, located at 2008 East 8th Avenue in Y-Bor City, Tampa, Florida. The memorial is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office maintains a memorial for deputies who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the citizens of Hillsborough County. Generous donations to HCSO charities built the memorial and pays for its upkeep.

The Memorial Plaza also includes a 9/11 Memorial, that includes a steel beam from the World Trade Center. This Memorial pays tribute to the first responders who sacrificed their lives, for the safety of others.
